National Association of Basketball Coaches and InfoMotion Sports to Combine Top Tech and Basketball Content
Dublin, OH (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Infomotion Sports Technologies (http://www.infomotionsports.com), maker of the 94Fifty BlueTooth Basketball, today announced an exclusive sponsorship with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to become the official smart basketball of the NABC. In the deal, InfoMotion will combine its first-in-class technology with the NABC’s extensive basketball knowledge to help young basketball players across the globe develop skills more effectively.
The 94Fifty® Bluetooth Sensor Basketball was unveiled in March 2013 and is the first product of its kind to measure and diagnose the quality of key skills critical to build confidence, versatility, and success in the game. The ball utilizes multiple motions sensors embedded inside the ball to measure the player who uses it in real time. It sends immediate shooting and ball-handling feedback to a mobile smartphone via Bluetooth, and will give players of any skill level access to some of the most sophisticated training feedback to improve important muscle memory skills more efficiently and effectively on a daily basis. The product includes a free, downloadable app that allows the player to train specific skills, work through levels of increasingly difficult workouts, compete head to head with any player based on their skills, and compete with anyone in the world via Twitter.
“The NABC works to establish and maintain how the game is coached, officiated, taught and played in the United States. Part of that responsibility is to adapt to the way that players develop skills, and the technological needs of today’s young players is changing rapidly, ” said Jim Haney, executive director of the NABC. “Our board of directors and member coaches are extremely impressed how well the 94Fifty Sensor basketball has been designed, and its ability to measure critical skills matches the goals that NABC members have to teach the game to future generations. We also see amazing potential to connect the knowledge of our coaches directly to young players at a personal level by the way 94Fifty turns those measurements into very detailed suggestions for improvement. We think 94Fifty represents the future of basketball development in the U.S.”
The ball’s measurements can prescribe proven, personalized methods to improve shooting mechanics, shot speed, shooting arc, power dribbling, hand-speed, mental coordination, and many other skills that have been traditionally impossible to measure. The NABC’s relationship will include providing content from its top basketball coaches as a premium digital content offering to those that own a 94Fifty basketball.
“The NABC and its member coaches are the pinnacle of amateur basketball in the U.S., and we are extremely excited to have the opportunity to be a part of its leadership position for U.S. basketball,” said Michael Crowley, InfoMotion founder and CEO. “The NABC’s commitment to developing highly skilled players is a big part of the organization’s success and we are proud to be a key piece of that equation. “
The relationship will involve a range of content and promotion to make this product available to NABC coaches and their players. The ball will available for general sale later this fall.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men’s basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today’s student-athletes.
