National Association of Professional Women Announces Annette A. Lee, Owner of Franklin Group Travel as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 22, 2013 -- NAPW honors Annette A. Lee as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in the travel and tourism industry with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 500,000 members and over 400 Local Chapters.
"At Franklin Group Travel, we make it possible for the group leader to concentrate on the most important part of any trip - the people,” says Ms. Lee of the travel agency she co-owns with her husband. The couple purchased the company from a friend more than a year ago and have been steadily growing it ever since.
Ms. Lee has more than 30 years of experience in the corporate arena, where her role as an administrator often included scheduling and handling all arrangements when it came to company travel. When the opportunity presented itself to run a travel agency with her husband, Ms. Lee jumped at the chance.
As an experienced travel coordinator, Ms. Lee is able to negotiate the best, most competitive prices possible and pass along those savings to clients. She meticulously oversees every detail of every trip she plans. Previously, Franklin Group Travel primarily focused on arranging trips for school choirs and bands. Under Ms. Lee’s expert direction, the company is now expanding its reach to a larger geographic area, working with more schools to handle all travel arrangements, including those for their athletic departments.
Although entrepreneurship has its challenges, Ms. Lee maintains a passionate and positive attitude. “It’s not as glamorous as people think,” she says of owning her own business. “But I am excited about growing our company!”
