Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Barbara M. Bundage, R.N., is a retired Registered Nurse with the Department of Health for Los Angeles County. She has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of the Year and has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.
Ms. Bundage chose nursing as a profession because of her passionate interest in science and a strong desire to help others. She also felt there were very few professions that could offer her as many rewards. Her areas of expertise include critical care, nursing, education and training, administration, health awareness teaching and screening. Ms. Bundage's nursing career has spanned more than 30 years. Though retired, she is still working in service for humanity, which includes teaching in health awareness where she uses her influence to increase the health awareness and risk of heart disease to the African American and Hispanic communities. Ms. Bundage is currently involved with UMRA Con Sigma Beta Chi, NBNA, NCNW, Delta Chapter- Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
As a critical care nurse she also acted as a patient advocate, having had all the essential skills required to make her an exceptional medical professional. She is an excellent communicator, has a compassionate understanding of the physical conditions associated with her patient’s ailments and the expertise to care for them. She counts the opening of the Martin Luther King Center in LA County as one of her outstanding accomplishments. Understandably, Ms. Bundage is highly respected by her peers as well as the many medical professionals she has had the privilege to serve.
