National Association of Professional Women Announces Beverly Albritton, Director of Payroll at Medical Staffing Network, as 2014 VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Beverly Albritton as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in business with this prestigious distinction. As the largest organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
“I have worked for many large companies with very large payrolls and was instrumental in the reorganization of the workflow within departments to ensure accurate, timely and efficient payroll processing,” says Ms. Albritton.
Responsible for corporate and field payroll, payroll tax filing and wage assignments at Medical Staffing Network, a leader in healthcare staffing, Ms. Albritton oversees the payroll of an average of 5,000 employees all across the U.S. As director of payroll, she uses the organizational skills and business acumen she honed at such companies as Revlon and Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, to oversee a team of professionals who manage a streamlined payroll process that is efficient, accurate and timely. She also has complete knowledge of tax laws and state and federal payrolls that allow her to ensure the company is in compliance. “My ability to work through an issue to not only solve the problem but put procedures in place so that it does not become an issue in the future is a plus as well.”
The ability to successfully implement new systems and to consolidate processes is what Ms. Albritton considers to be one of her biggest accomplishments. “One company I worked for was on 27 different payroll systems when I was hired. I was given a year to get 10,000 employees to one system,” she recalls. “I traveled coast to coast for 22 weeks doing installs and training. This company then decided to change to a standard time system. I did the implementation on this as well.”
Ms. Albritton credits her mentor, Miss Williams, a colleague from her first job with teaching her the skills and knowledge she uses today. “She taught me that payroll was one of the most important functions in a company,” she recalls. In the industry for over 40 years, Ms. Albritton has no plans to retire. “I like to keep busy and enjoy my work. One thing I would like to do is set up a cooking school for families that need to learn how to prepare healthy meals at the lowest cost,” she says.
