National Association of Professional Women Announces Lynne M. Campbell, Quality Assurance Manager at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) February 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Lynne M. Campbell as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in technology with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
“I have a technical background in software programming and design so I am able to teach my team test design and validation techniques using tools,” says Ms. Campbell. As quality assurance manager at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), Ms. Campbell manages three global software test teams on a predominately mainframe platform. They are responsible for more than 12,000 components for approximately 20 business applications dealing with tax filings.
Before joining ADP in 2001, Ms. Campbell honed her technical skills and business acumen at Edison International and Home Savings of America, where she helped transform the companies’ respective computer applications. On one occasion at ADP, she exchanged the company's database platform while maintaining business as usual. Her most recent achievement awarded the company 25% reduction in total batch computing time.
Interestingly, Ms. Campbell did not always work in the technical arena. She began her professional life as an art teacher. “The school district I worked for was offering a free summer class in computers,” she says. “I wanted to be able to talk more to my students about computers so I took a two-week course. I've been hooked on computers ever since!” Ms. Campbell quit her teaching job one year later, pursued a certificate in programming and began working in the technical field immediately.
“I am thrilled every day with the capabilities and breadth my profession can bring to the companies I work for,” says Ms. Campbell. “I am looking forward to bringing automation tools for mainframe testing to my teams and oversee their successful deployment and use.”
