National Association of Professional Women Announces Michelle R. Leggett, Manager at Hologic Gen-Probe, Inc., as Woman of the Year

Leggett, manager of, warehouse distribution and manufacturing packaging at Hologic Gen-Probe has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of the Year. Ms. Leggett has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.
Hologic Gen-Probe specializes in inbound through outbound material movements/finished goods packaging and is a key operating component of the company's supply chain. It is a global leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of rapid, accurate and cost-effective molecular diagnostic products and services that are used primarily to diagnose human diseases, screen donated human blood and ensure transplant compatibility.
In 1999, Ms. Leggett was the first distribution employee to join the newly formed blood screening team to support the company’s distribution and manufacturing department. Years of personal research led her to author 20 manufacturing documents to support the finished goods packaging of Hologic Gen-Probe’s blood screening assay kits. In June of 2006, she successfully managed a holiday weekend move of Hologic Gen-Probe’s distribution department without loss of shipments. Project management experience includes the successful implementation of a 3PL (third party logistics). Ms. Leggett has also been recognized for starting a successful internal internship program for the company and in 2011 she was appointed to train warehouse personnel at the new Manchester, UK facility.
For her commitment to achieving success according to her personal standards of excellence, and for her outstanding accomplishments in enriching her field with her diversified proficiencies, Ms. Legget is being honored as a role model for her industry and her peers.
