National Association of Professional Women Announces Mille Lee Baldwin, Owner and Chef of Eloise's Pastries, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- NAPW honors Mille Lee Baldwin as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Baldwin is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in baking and culinary services. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I have been baking since I was very young, though I started training with a chef de cuisine when I was 14,” says Ms. Baldwin, Owner and Chef of Eloise’s Pastries.
Ms. Baldwin recalls baking her first cake at the age of 8, but it wasn’t until 20 years ago that she began baking professionally full time. A successful marketing and international nonprofit professional turned Master Baker, Ms. Baldwin now owns and operates a successful online bakery that ships all over the country. Overseeing a staff of at least six, she and her team produce delicious, home-baked products including custom occasion cakes, cookies, scones, wedding cakes and baked goods. Eloise’s Pastries also offers customers gluten-free and vegan baked goods.
“We do a lot of wedding cakes and occasion cakes,” says Ms. Baldwin. “I sit down with every client so they can tell me exactly what they envision.” She says it could take anywhere from three to 14 hours to bake and decorate a custom-designed wedding cake. Although Ms. Baldwin oversees every aspect of the baking, she has the utmost confident in her talented staff of bakers and “pastry artists” who work for her. “I definitely look for staff with artistic knowledge,” she says. As to the future, Ms. Baldwin is planning to have Eloise’s Pastries products featured nationally in select market grocery stores.
