Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors N. Catherine Herlin, Curriculum Director at I'SOT Private School, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Mrs. Herlin is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in Education. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

As Curriculum Director at I'SOT Private School, Catherine Herlin's skills and areas of expertise include educational leadership and curriculum design. She received her Master's degree in the Humanities from California State University at Dominguez Hills and holds a specialist credential in learning handicaps from UC Davis, and a community college instructor's credential. Mrs. Herlin earned her basic teaching credential from CSU Chico.

Mrs. Herlin has completed 40 years in the classroom, and is looking forward to year 41 this fall in a multi-grade high school classroom. She is currently involved with NCTE, ILA, Kappa Delta Pi and ASCD. Owner of Hasty Bread Productions, Mrs. Herlin's work has been published in the California English Journal, and she has recently published a book titled, "He Called Them By Name: A Storybook for Grownups and Teens."
