National Association of Professional Women Inducts Celia Banting, Author/Psychologist/RN at Wighita Press, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Celia Banting, Ph.D., as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. Originally from the UK, Dr. Banting was in charge of a 400-year-old boarding school in Tiverton, Devon. She used her social work qualification to be an Education Welfare Officer to help at-risk teenagers, and also became a Probation Officer in the UK. She worked as a Personal Development Officer at Camp Hill Prison on the Isle of Wight, and during that time, gained a teaching qualification. “My love has always been to work with children and teenagers, which is now my current position in the U.S.,” she said.
Dr. Celia Banting is an Author / Psychologist / RN at Wighita Press. She is an impressive example of a woman who successfully overcame a learning disorder and is the Author of ten books on teenage suicide. Her interest was sparked after doing research on the subject for her Ph.D. After discovering the horrifying high rate of suicides among teenagers she became inspired to find a way to help through writing therapeutic novels geared expressly for them.
As one who understands how the process of overcoming a handicap works, Dr. Banting uses her own experience as a way to reach others who are suffering without the tools to help themselves. The recipient of KATVs Arkansas's most outstanding woman of the year award in 2007, Dr. Banting's plans for 2015 incude making her books available as iBooks.
