National Association of Professional Women Inducts Gracelyn Guyol, Holistic Mental Health Advocate, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Gracelyn Guyol as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in Holistic Mental Health. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Gracelyn into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She and her company are making great strides in the holistic mental health field.”
A successful author and entrepreneur, Ms. Guyol has an extensive background in corporate sales, marketing and public relations. “Thus far, I have founded a California PR agency, an organic medicinal herbal tea business and an environmental nonprofit, CUSH, Inc. (Clean Up Sound & Harbors).” She accomplished this despite suffering from bouts of depression and being re-diagnosed as bipolar in 1993.
Within a year of beginning on an antidepressant, Ms. Guyol’s health began to suffer. After research and consultation with a naturopathic doctor, she adopted a holistic medical approach. Soon, both her body and mind healed. She now advocates for the benefits of living a chemical-free, holistic lifestyle, outlining the negative effects of psychiatric drugs and the need for improved psychiatric treatments.
“I am planning to open a holistic mental health institute and clinic near my home in Connecticut by 2016,” she said. “Knowing I have helped someone recover from mental illness is the most emotionally satisfying work I have ever done. It
is my passion, not just a job.”
Ms. Guyol is the author of "Who’s Crazy Here? Steps to Recovery Without Drugs" (for nine mental diagnoses) (2010) and "Healing Depression & Bipolar Disorder Without Drugs" (2006). She has produced 40 one-hour TV shows in an ongoing series, “Restoring Health Holistically.”
