National Association of Professional Women Inducts Jacqueline Deville, Retired Deputy Director, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 11, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Jacqueline Deville as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in social services. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Jacqueline into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Now retired, Jacqueline Deville spent more than 40 years working in the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for the state of New York. In her role as Deputy Director, Ms. Deville was instrumental in ensuring that adequate services and support were available to people with developmental disabilities.
Using her skills in areas such as social work, community outreach, social services, public policy, case management and conflict resolution, Ms. Deville worked tirelessly as an advocate on behalf of people who needed it most. Knowing each individual is different, the department offers “a person-centered planning process” for every client to make sure they have the resources they need when it comes time to choosing where they live, finding employment and appropriate activities, interacting with the community and receiving proper health and wellness services.
Although she is retired, Ms. Deville, who has an M.A. in Social Work from Adelphi University, still consults in the areas of client advocacy and quality assurance. Always one to give back to the community, she also mentors young African American girls, is on the Advisory Board at the Dr. Martin Luther King Health Center and is involved in anti-bullying programs in Washington, DC.
