National Association of Professional Women Inducts Lejoi Reese, Co-Founder/Chief Creative Officer of Brave Chick, LLC, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 04, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Lejoi Reese as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Lejoi into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Lejoi Reese has always been passionate about the arts. After working in the wholesale textile design industry for over a decade, she decided to make a change and broaden her skills and experience by working in retail sales and the interior design industry. “This gave me more free time to devote to my painting and jewelry-making passions,” she said. “I take pride in being a graphic designer, a textile designer, a painter, a photographer, a musician and a jewelry designer. These labels don’t define who I am, they are just proof of my passion for the arts.”
In 2012, Ms. Reese co-founded Brave Chick, LLC, where she combines her talents and skills as an artist and designer with her expertise in marketing and business to create and market artisanal hand-made jewelry. She is involved in all key aspects of the company, including conceptualizing and executing product design and production, providing customer service, designing and maintaining the company’s website, and managing social media campaigns and all marketing efforts.
A survivor of domestic abuse, Ms. Reese chooses to create jewelry that “inspires confidence, courage and individuality.” She and her business partner are committed to supporting a number of nonprofit organizations that fight against domestic abuse and violence. In an effort to help other women and girls, Ms. Reese willingly shares her story and listens to theirs. “Presenting my jewelry to a prospective customer while sharing my story of surviving domestic abuse and experiencing them opening their hearts to share their own story of abuse is most rewarding to me,” she said.
Ms. Reese plans to use her company to continue to fight violence against women and girls and hopes to eventually make The Brave Chick Movement a global phenomenon. “I want to see The Brave Chick Movement be a meaningful movement of emotional and spiritual support for women around the world,” she said. “My jewelry and brand will be the vehicle to promote anti- violence, anti-misogyny, authentic living and self-awareness.”
