National Association of Professional Women Inducts Linda Much, Psychotherapist at Linda Much, PC, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 12, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Linda Much as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in mental health. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Linda into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Linda Much dreamed of being an Actress but realized how difficult it would be to pursue that career. Instead, she chose a field where she could use her people skills as a way of helping others. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Psychology and has been a Psychotherapist since 1976.
“I treat people ages 6 to 65,” Ms. Much said. “I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor, and a Chemical Dependency counselor.” Her areas of expertise include anxiety, bi-polar disorder, depression, marriage and family counseling, and addiction treatment.
Through talking with her clients, Ms. Much helps them to face and overcome the fears and obstacles that keep them from achieving personal happiness. “I can be brutally honest,” she admits. “Verbalizing is my A #1 skill.” As part of their therapy, Ms. Much said she often gives her clients ‘homework’ such as “give yourself one compliment a day” or “go on a date,” so they may practice what they’ve discussed.
Although her work can be challenging, Ms. Much says it is worth it when she sees her clients—especially children—get better. As far as her future goals, once she retires, Ms. Much plans to devote more of her free time to her first love: acting. “I’d like to get into the movies, do more shows. I act now on the side, in shows and community theater,” she said.
