National Association of Professional Women Inducts Lorie White, Sr. VP, Human Resources at Enterprise Bank & Trust, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 12, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Lorie White as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Lorie into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Although she had a successful career in human resources in the healthcare industry for 30 years, Lorie White was ready for something different. She got the opportunity for a change a few years ago when a mutual professional acquaintance reached out to her about leading the human resources (HR) department at Enterprise Bank & Trust. “I thought the opportunity to learn a new industry would keep me challenged and engaged for the remainder of my career,” she said.
In her role as Sr. VP, Human Resources, Ms. White has a number of key responsibilities. “I establish and implement HR/people/culture strategies to support and drive achievement of our key business priorities and objectives,” she said. “I lead, manage, develop, engage and retain a team of high-performing HR professionals.” Ms. White cites a number of skills that have contributed to her success in HR, including leadership, communication, relationship building, strategic planning, project management, and nurturing and mentoring staff.
Although challenged by the fast-paced changes constantly occurring in the HR field, Ms. White still finds it “rewarding, fun (most of the time) and most of all, increasingly essential to organizational success.” She plans to continue to nurture and mentor young professionals and strives to become the best HR leader she can possible be.
In the future, Ms. White hopes to join at least one nonprofit board. “I am particularly passionate about issues of racial and gender equality, and want to become more involved in community activism and improvement efforts focused on these areas of need,” she said.
