National Association of Professional Women Inducts Molea William, Medical Assistant at SHMG, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) April 25, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Molea William as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Molea into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Molea William was working as a Nanny–a job that offered no room for advancement or improvement—when she noticed a television commercial about becoming a Medical Assistant. “I immediately called the number on the screen,” she recalled. “After getting all the info, I thought about it for a while and decided to pursue the medical assistant program.” She continued to work as a Nanny and went to school on the weekends, studying and doing her homework in the evenings and during the children’s nap times.
“I pursued this journey for a whole year and was able to graduate as an A student who was on the President’s List twice and the Dean’s List once,” Ms. William said proudly. Now, as a Medical Assistant at SHMG, she uses her strong administrative skills in communications, technology and customer service. Her clinical expertise includes working closely and communicating with doctor and patient, conveying important medical information and performing accurate assessment of vital signs. She handles all tasks with empathy, accuracy and compassion.
Although there can be difficult patients, Ms. William finds her work fulfilling. “At the end of the day, I go home knowing I made a positive difference in people’s lives,” she said. “Becoming a Medical Assistant was a gateway to greater things.” Her future goal is to become an RN. Growing up poor in St. Lucia, Ms. Williams has always been inspired by her mother who instilled in her the importance of sharing what she did have and volunteers her time at a women’s shelter.
