National Association of Professional Women Inducts P. Lynn Edwards, Chief Operating Officer/Co-Designer Suspended in Time TN, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (PRWEB) February 20, 2018 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors P. Lynn Edwards as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. P. Lynn Edwards, a veteran of the U.S. Army, has worked in various positions for the Federal Government for 30 years. For the past eight years, her role has been Industry Investigator, where she uses her skills in strategic planning and communications. But Ms. Edwards also has a creative side, with experience in event planning, decorating, floral design and writing. In preparation for her eventual retirement, she started looking into franchise opportunities where she could use these talents.
In 2017, Ms. Edwards became a franchise owner of Suspended in Time, a company that specializes in flower preservation, bridal bouquet and gown preservation. “I found this franchise and it fits me perfectly,” she said. “To prepare myself further, I am enrolled in a floral design course to better serve our clients. I use my organizational skills and talent for color and design. It involves using a revolutionary and proprietary method for preserving flowers in much less time than the usual method of dehydrating.”
Since establishing her business, Suspended in Time TN, Ms. Edwards and her partner work hard to create memories for individuals. “My business partner and I prepare the flowers and create beautiful encasements (frames, domes) for tables or to hang, which last for generations,” she said. “Our main customers are brides and funeral memorials. We also do corsages, centerpieces and preserve wedding gowns.” Using her design and communication skills, Ms. Edwards meets with clients and helps them decide the best way to preserve their memories. Working with her partner, they often collaborate on designs and support each other on individual projects.
To date, the company is continuing to grow and expand. “Our goals for Suspended in Time TN are to keep on the growth path we’re currently on,” said. “When the time comes, we’ll be training additional personnel to join our design team. We’re interested in becoming what our home office refers to as a ‘master franchise,’ which involves becoming a distribution warehouse for this part of the country. We want to take this business as far as we can yet maintain the quality of our work and please our clients. We’ll be looking into diversifying into other similar businesses while maintaining the integrity of our original starter. A business must grow or become stagnant so we are determined to expand.”
