She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nonprofit education. Since 1982, Sally Large has been the Director of the Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center, a community-based, nonpro t facility located in San Francisco. During her long and successful tenure, the Center’s mission to provide quality childcare and support local families in need has continued to grow even stronger.
According to its website, the Center provides “comprehensive, educationally based child care services to a culturally and economically diverse population using a model promoting the physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being of the children served facilitated through active involvement of parents and continued support and cooperation of the community.”
In her role, Ms. Large uses her skills in nonprofit organization management, fundraising, early childhood education and parent education. She leads a staff of highly skilled teachers as they provide personalized attention to every student
and support to their families. In addition to her work at the Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center, Ms. Large is Director Seminar Facilitator at City College of San Francisco.
Ms. Large has a Master’s degree in Education from Antioch University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Political Science from Hobart & Williams Smith Colleges. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
