National Association of Professional Women Inducts Sharon Schultz, CEO, Schultz and Company Insurance, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 08, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Sharon Schultz as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in insurance. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Sharon with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “I applaud her for using her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
When Sharon Schultz was younger, working in an office seemed like fun, so when it came time for her to finally enter the working world, she headed straight to an office. “It seems some kids wanted to be a teacher; I wanted to be an office person who would help others,” she said. “I started in health insurance and worked my way up the corporate ladder to be that salesperson I had always wanted to be.”
After 26 years in the insurance industry working in numerous positions, including Claims Processor, Customer Service Representative and Insurance Sales Representative, Ms. Schultz made the bold leap to entrepreneurship. Today, she is CEO of Schultz and Company Insurance, working closely with clients to educate them on what they need to know about their insurance coverage.
As sole proprietor, Ms. Schultz is involved in every aspect of the company—from administration to meeting with clients to delivering presentations. She uses her exceptional ability to connect with people to discuss their insurance needs. “I use stories to help clients better understand the way insurance works,” she said. “I listen to their needs, not mine; I give them who I am every day. I do my best to make someone’s day. I use the talents I have been given to educate others about the insurance business.”
Rewarded by the knowledge that she is able to offer guidance to those who need it most, Ms. Schultz loves what she does and hopes to eventually pass her business on to someone who feels the same way. “I have been told a few times, ‘You must really like your job.’ My answer is, ‘Yes, I do,’ and we smile. They always know I’m there for them,” she said.
