National Association of Professional Women Inducts Susan B. Welt, Senior Engineer at Geosyntec Consultants, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 07, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Susan Welt as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in environmental engineering NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Susan Welt is a Senior Engineer with Geosyntec Consultants. She was an Owner and Principal of EnviroGroup Limited, which is now a Geosyntec company, and counts such leaders of industry as Blasland, Bouck & Lee, Inc., The RETEC Group, Inc. and the New York State Department of Health Center for Environmental Health among her past employers.
Ms. Welt's career began as a Project Engineer for The RETEC Group, Inc., where she designed and managed manufactured gas plant (MGP) and mercury impacted site projects, including soil excavation and site restoration around and under houses; sediment dredging, rendering and capping; and soil gas and indoor air quality surveys in urban and residential settings.
As an engineer specializing in environmental engineering, specifically in the areas of vapor intrusion and MGP, community relations, and stakeholder negotiations, Ms. Welt built a reputation as an expert in her field. She is also experienced in design engineering, development and oversight of company-wide and community health and safety programs, the dispute resolution process, and managing complex environmental projects. Ms. Welt is a Registered Professional Engineer with an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and an M.P.H. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is also a Fellow of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute.
