National Association of Professional Women Inducts Susan Hotsenpiller, Textron, Inc., Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Susan Hotsenpiller as a 2015-2016 inductee into the NAPW VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in aerospace and defense. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to recognize Susan with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
For 11 years, Susan Hotsenpiller has been the Director of Government Affairs with Textron, Inc. Her key responsibilities are to advocate for and against policies and regulatory matters that affect Textron businesses. Her position requires researching and analyzing legislative proposals, interacting with members of Congress and their staff, as well as engaging with industry associations. Textron’s corporate office provides oversight, direction and assistance to its businesses, consistent with sound corporate governance practices.
Immediately following graduation from the University of Arizona, Ms. Hotsenpiller began working for Congressman Bob Stump. At the time, he was Ranking Member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee. “The legislative focus of those two committees taught me to deeply appreciate the men and women who wear our nation’s uniform, both active duty and veterans of the services,” she said.
Ms. Hotsenpiller enjoys the challenge of finding a solution, whether it is working solo or in a team. “I am open to change; it presents new opportunities for me to grow and learn.” Weeding through bureaucracy is the most challenging aspect, but it is rewarding when she hears from customers that the products Textron makes are highly desired by both the military and commercial customer.
