National Association of Professional Women Inducts Terisse L. Acker, Owner/Operator of TLA Tax Preparer, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

Terisse Acker said it was the recommendation of a long-time friend that inspired her to embark on a career in the tax preparation/accounting field. Today, Ms. Acker has 30 years of experience in the industry providing full accounting services to individuals, businesses and trusts. About one year ago, she made the bold leap to entrepreneurship when she became the Owner and Operator of TLA Tax Preparer, which is based in Ukiah, CA.
In her role, Ms. Acker uses the skills she has honed in math, leadership, computer and logic to provide personalized tax preparation services. Her extensive client list includes individuals, businesses, trusts, estates and more.
Ms. Acker also specializes in helping new business owners build their companies. “I am able to assist on multiple levels, such as choosing and setting up the appropriate accounting software, setting up a chart of accounts, streamlining general ledger functions, and the usual accounts payable and receivable, payroll and thorough preparation of financial statements,” she said.
Although running her own business and building a strong customer base can be difficult, Ms. Acker is excited by the challenge. “I love helping others succeed,” she said. “I plan to continue to give the best of me to my customers.”
