National Conference on Problem Gambling Visits the Southeast for the First Time
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- Leaders gather to share cutting-edge information at the 28th National Conference on Problem Gambling.
For the first time in its 28 years, the National Conference on Problem Gambling was held in the Southeast, proudly hosted by the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling, July 11-12, 2014. Previous locations in recent years include Milwaukee, Boston and Seattle.
Thanks to generous sponsors who support the work and mission of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), over $300,000 in direct and in-kind support has been contributed for NCPG's 28th National Conference on Problem Gambling.
“We are especially grateful for the very generous support of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which provided the largest single sponsorship in the history of the conference,” said Pat Fowler, Executive Director of the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling.
“We were thrilled to welcome back two other tribal gaming entities as major sponsors: Four Winds Casino Resort from Michigan and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians from California, as well as Wind Creek Hospitality from Alabama. And the commercial gaming industry provided significant support as well: Las Vegas Sands Corporation on the casino side and GTECH, primarily a lottery vendor, were both major sponsors,” said Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling.
