National Flood Services and SEMCAT partner to enhance flood quoting process and provide better service for insurance agents and their clients in Florida
KALISPELL, Mont. (PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- National Flood Services (NFS), a division of Affinity Insurance Services, Inc., announced that it has partnered with SEMCAT to streamline flood quoting for insurance agents in Florida. Through SEMCAT’s comparative rating solution, insurance agents will now automatically receive an instant estimate and personalized flood proposal, including a cost indication, the home’s estimated flood risk and a customer waiver, with each homeowners quote. SEMCAT currently provides insurance quotes for more than 50,000 Florida properties each month.
“Florida is one of the nation’s highest risk flood areas. According to FEMA, flood events that occurred in April 2014 in Florida produced National Flood Insurance Program claims payments in excess of $102 million,” said Keith Brown, president and chief executive officer for NFS. “Agents all too often only offer or sell flood insurance when it’s required by the customer’s mortgage lender. Through our partnership with SEMCAT, we are empowering insurance agents to offer flood quotes routinely to customers and helping reduce the risk of uninsured customers experiencing devastating flood losses. Our partnership is a perfect fit in one of the highest risk flood markets in the United States.”
While flood is the top natural disaster in the United States, fewer than 10 percent of homeowners carry flood insurance1. Many consumers are unaware that flood damage is typically not covered by a standard homeowners’ insurance policy. This not only leaves many homeowners unprepared and unprotected, but insurance agencies may also face errors and omissions exposure by not offering flood coverage.
“Consumers deserve a transparent insurance shopping experience and we’re building SEMCAT to power it,” said Jeff Runyan, chief executive officer for SEMCAT. “Through our relationship with NFS, we will help insurance agents more reliably inform and protect their customers.”
National Flood Services is one of the top administrators for insurance carriers participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, and currently administers and manages more than three million flood insurance policies on behalf of its client companies.
