National Foundation For Cancer Research Swim4TheCure Enters Second Year
(PRWEB) September 18, 2015 -- The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) is proud to announce the launch of its annual Swim4TheCure campaign to help support cancer research. In keeping with the charity’s commitment to prevention and early diagnosis, Swim4TheCure enables donors to keep fit while raising money to support cancer researchers in the laboratory.
Swim4TheCure’s first event will feature a longtime member of the NFCR Board of Directors, Mark R. Baran, as he joins with friends and other endurance swimmers in a two-mile open water race at Sunset Lake in Wildwood Crest, N.J. on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
Mark, a co-founder and Managing Director of Lake Como, NJ based Four Springs Capital, LLC, developed the idea of Swim4TheCure in order to help swimmers to use their races as fundraisers. To date, Mark’s friends, family and colleagues have raised over $10,000 for the National Foundation for Cancer Research in support of his endurance swim.
“Pushing myself in an open water endurance race helps remind me what kind of stamina cancer researchers possess,” Baran said. Mark is determined to once again surpass his fundraising goal in 2015.
“Swim4TheCure is another way that people can stay active and help support promising cancer research in the laboratory,” said Sujuan Ba, Ph.D., president of the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
