National Kidney Foundation’s Celebrates LogistiCare’s Fundraising Efforts
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) September 10, 2015 -- On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Austin Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation will celebrate LogistiCare Austin raising nearly $27,000 in this year’s National Kidney Walk event. Senior Vice President of Operations for LogistiCare, Gregg Bryars, served as this year’s chairman of the leadership committee.
The 2015 National Kidney Walk was held on June 7 and is the nation’s largest walk to fight kidney disease. With nearly 100 communities participating across the U.S., the walk raises awareness and funds for lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families and those at high risk of kidney failure. Each year, more than 75,000 walkers join the National Kidney Foundation to raise over $8 million to help kidney patients and their families.
“In my role as 2015 chairman, I am naming Steven Feist, VP of Operations, LogistiCare as next year’s chairman,” said Gregg Bryars Senior Vice President of Operations for LogistiCare. “I am confident under his leadership, our commitment to this important organization will be taken to the next level, and we couldn’t be more excited to grow our partnership with the National Kidney Foundation to help raise awareness for the prevention of kidney disease.”
LogistiCare manages approximately 60 million non-emergency medical transports each year across the country, with 20 percent of these providing access to dialysis treatments, 12 million dialysis transports each year.
LogistiCare has been a corporate sponsor of the National Kidney Foundation for several years, raising over $50,000 during last year’s Kidney Walk as a company. The Austin team, LogistiCare All the Way, led the company’s effort nationally raising more than $27,000. This was LogistiCare first year serving in a leadership role for the Austin event.
