National Military Family Association Honors ValueOptions for their Support of Military Families
Alexandria, Virginia (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- The National Military Family Association, a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families, announced today that ValueOptions®, Inc. is recognized, alongside the Newman’s Own Foundation, as a recipient of the 2014 Dr. Lowell G. Daun Award. The award is given to organizations that have made significant contributions over time to the development of the Association and its initiatives.
ValueOptions, the nation’s largest independent behavioral health and wellness company, has been a key supporter of the Association’s MyMilitaryLife app, a first-of-its kind resource that gives military families access to trusted information right at their fingertips. Instead of sifting through tens of thousands of official military and community support websites, users receive personalized recommendations based on their specific needs.
“This app couldn't be what it is today without the support of ValueOptions,” said Michelle Joyner, Mobile Initiatives Director at National Military Family Association. “We are grateful for all that they have done for our Association and excited to present them with the award.”
In addition to providing $20,000 in funding for the development and support of MyMilitaryLife, ValueOptions is offering the app as a resource to more than 30 million members through its Achieve Solutions website. “Military families go through a lot with deployments, moves, and the many life challenges inherent in supporting their service member or members,” said Kerry Mooney, Executive Vice President of ValueOptions and President of ValueOptions’ Federal Division. “This app assists families through every stage of military life—from children changing schools to spouses changing jobs, and even retirement. We are honored to share this resource that provides personalized support for military families no matter their location or circumstances.”
The National Military Family Association has been in partnership with ValueOptions since 2012. Past recipients of the Dr. Lowell G. Daun Award include US Family Health Plan, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Humana Military.
“Lots of organizations care about military families, but ValueOptions has taken their support to a new level. They have joined the ranks of those who make a lasting commitment to help military families get the support they need,” said Joyce Raezer, Executive Director of the National Military Family Association.
