Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- The National Patient Safety Foundation, a central voice for patient safety since 1997, has formed an agreement with Joint Commission Resources that makes The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety® an officially recognized publication of the Foundation. As part of the agreement, the Journal is now offered at a special rate to members of NPSF programs. The new benefit, a 20 percent discount for online or print subscriptions, is available to individuals who are active members of the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety at NPSF and to organizations that belong to the Stand Up for Patient Safety Program at NPSF.
“NPSF is committed to putting practical, leading-edge information into the hands of the professionals who make up our membership,” said Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, president and chief executive officer, NPSF. “The Joint Commission Journal is recognized as a valuable resource to those in the field of patient safety, and we are pleased to offer this new benefit to our members—many of whom are working on the front lines or in leadership positions at health care organizations.”
Published monthly, The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety, a peer-reviewed publication, focuses on proven, practical solutions that address the quality and patient safety challenges facing health care organizations across the continuum of care. The Journal is well known for providing detailed descriptions of development and implementation of quality and safety tools, interventions, and strategies to facilitate adoption by other organizations. Subscribers receive online access to all articles published since 2000, many of which still represent workable best practices.
“Our content is very clearly in line with the priorities of NPSF and its membership,” said Steven Berman, executive editor of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. “We are very pleased to be working with NPSF to bring details of new developments in patient safety and health care quality to their members.”
The Stand Up for Patient Safety program at NPSF, established in 2002, is designed for health care organizations, state agencies, or other entities focused on quality and safety. The American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety was established in 2011 as the first individual membership society with patient safety at its organizing principle.
