National TournEvent of Champions® Kicks Off 2015 Campaign with Tour Launches in Las Vegas and Austin
Las Vegas, Nevada | Austin, Texas (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- The 2015 National TournEvent of Champions is officially underway following kick-off events in Las Vegas, Nevada and Austin, Texas. The world’s top slot tournament event will now travel to casinos across the nation in search of qualifiers for the National TournEvent of Champions Championship where a new national champion will be crowned September 29-30.
The nationwide event formally kicked off its 2015 campaign with ceremonies held at Multimedia Games’ production facilities in Austin, Texas on April 27, 2015, and at the headquarters of parent company, GCA, in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 28. From these starting points, two National TournEvent of Champions touring buses will cover approximately 40,000 miles visiting casinos in 22 states to award qualifying players with a four-night stay at The Wynn Las Vegas and a seat at the National TournEvent of Champions finals.
“Our staff has been working hard to line up the in-casino qualifying events for the 2015 National TournEvent of Champions even before the 2014 Champion was crowned,” said Ram Chary, CEO. “And now, the second phase is under way as our two buses hit the road in search of the best slot tournament players around all vying for a shot at our biggest prize purse yet. The event just keeps getting bigger and better.”
The 2015 championships, held at The Wynn’s XS Nightclub for the second consecutive year, will see more than 200 competitors from 100-plus casinos battling for the National Champion’s ring and a grand prize of $1,000,000*. The total purse for this year’s championships is $1,300,000 — more than double the purse from last year’s event.
In addition to the championship event, the second TournEvent for Charity™ will be held on September 29 prior to the final rounds of the National TournEvent of Champions. The charity tournament will take place in the Multimedia Games booth at the Global Gaming Expo and feature 24 celebrities, media members, and special guests competing on behalf of their charity of choice. TournEvent for Charity also benefits Save A Warrior, with TournEvent maker, Multimedia Games, making a $40,000 donation to the program benefitting active-duty military personnel, veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress. An additional $40,000 will be distributed among the charities selected by the players.
