National TV Show Stirs Debate On Gun Control
Pittsburgh, Penn. (PRWEB) June 23, 2016 -- In a society filled with gun control debate, nationally-aired TV show "Raised Hunting" from Outdoor-Sportsman Group network Outdoor Channel, has caused quite a stir on social media powerhouse Facebook. In less than 48 hours, the controversial post has reached more than 7 million people and generated over 100,000 shares! The simple statement "This is real 'Gun Control' ... it's called teaching them safety and respect young" depicts a young child enjoying a day afield with no more than a BB gun. A common practice in rural America, a low-risk BB gun provides the ability to teach young outdoorsmen and women the practices of safe gun handling.
Raised Hunting founder, and father of two boys, David Holder explains, "We do not train or teach our kids to shoot people in any way, shape, or form, however, I would bet that most of us would be the first one to pull the trigger to defend one of you that do nothing but criticize a gun owners and hunters very existence. It's difficult to watch and read as our media outlets pick and choose who they want to represent each side."
Holder goes on to add, "I am not here to win a political battle, but myself and my family are here to educate a huge mass of people that just don't understand that hunters are not walking into night clubs, movie theaters and schools to shoot people. I am a father and a parent, I shed tears for those families as well. But I understand that it was not the gun that killed those kids and those people, it was the person behind the gun."
"With so many Americans calling for stricter gun control, yet so misinformed or uneducated on the subject of firearms, the need for mass education on what gun control can be effective in today's society," states Holder.
He ends with this simple statement, "We don't blame the car when a drunk driver causes a fatal accident...why should a gun be blamed for a shooting?"
