Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) Announces Summer Community Relations Efforts; Focus is on Housing, Back-to-School Needs
Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- An anonymous survey of its staff led the Tampa Bay Times to name NTC as a top 100 Workplace in the Tampa Bay Region in 2015; a designation that can be partly attributed to the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. Between June 1 and July 31, NTC is partnering with the Debartolo Family Foundation for a Back to School Supply Drive that will benefit Tampa Bay public school teachers and their students. NTC is collecting school supplies, and is also sponsoring two teachers to help them provide for their classrooms for the 2015-2016 academic year.
This kind of support is particularly important, notes NTC, at a time when teachers and parents are struggling to deal with the combination of continued education budget cuts and increasing materials costs. Almost 100% of parents who responded to a recent national survey said they expected to have to spend more this fall than they did the preceding year to supplement their children’s classroom supplies.1 In another survey, nine out of ten teachers said they had spent their own money on school supplies, and significant numbers reported that they had spent their own money to help poor students with other needs such as food or clothing.2
The Back to School Supply Drive is part of NTC’s ongoing commitment to its local community. The company—a national leader in research and document processing for the residential real estate industry—also works closely with Habitat for Humanity Pinellas, and is building a home with the organization on August 1. In addition, NTC is joining the Hammers and Heels women’s group within Habitat, which is dedicated to increasing philanthropy for the organization, engaging women in strategic giving, and impacting the lives of low-income families in the area.
“We firmly believe,” says NTC CEO John Hillman, “that companies have the responsibility to give back. We made corporate social responsibility an integral part of our business model in 2011, and since then we’ve doubled in size, to nearly 350 employees. We’re dependent on the efforts of a dedicated, highly trained workforce, and we know that our emphasis on helping those in need is a major factor in why many of our employees choose to work for us. It’s a question of values, and it’s also, on a fundamental level, good business.”
