NBCC, Canada to Train Hospitality Students on Hotelogix Cloud based PMS

NBCC offers more than 90 programs in 16 program sectors at six campuses throughout New Brunswick. Most of these programs are industry recognized and accredited, which emphasizes the importance NBCC places on its programming. The St. Andrews Campus has been delivering Hospitality and Tourism programs for over 20 years and they have a specific course on Property Management Systems. In this course students are exposed to PMS software applications in order to prepare them for employment in the hotel industry.
Mitchell Haskins wanted to expose his students to cloud based PMS because he believes that it is a valuable option for small and mid-sized hotels since it is affordable, provides real time updates and upgrades and can be viewed instantaneously by global distributors. He says, “With cloud based systems the small operator does not have to worry about the storage of data or backing up systems to the same degree that they would when they have the hardware and data located on a server within the property.”
Mr. Haskins was extremely keen that the hospitality students were able to experience cloud based systems as opposed to older generation legacy software. The college approached Hotelogix because they found the system to be easy to use, progressive and a great system to train their students. The cloud based Hotelogix PMS was accessible from anywhere meaning that in the future, students could work from home and utilize classroom time to discuss their work and reflect on their findings.
