Neal Communities Celebrates Five Years of Giving to Gullett
Lakewood Ranch, Florida (PRWEB) November 01, 2013 -- The 5th Annual Neal Communities Golf Challenge benefiting B.D. Gullett Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch was a success, thanks in part to a $10,000 donation by Neal Communities, lead sponsor of the annual event.
The tournament, which began in 2008 to provide much needed technological resources for students and a growing population in the area, has proved to be a huge asset to fundraising goals for B.D. Gullett Elementary.
“Lakewood Ranch and its residents have welcomed Neal Communities, and we welcome the chance to improve our community schools with valuable resources whenever possible,” said Pat Neal, president and CEO of Neal Communities. “We enjoy making a difference in our area schools and we are proud of the improvements we’ve been able to be a part of,” said Neal.
Eighty-six golfers and community leaders showed up for this year’s tournament. Because of this event, teachers and staff at the school are able to fund laptops and computer equipment, a need that has grown steadily since opening in August 2007. The total amount raised that will go directly toward the school is $19,289.61. Other funds will go towards buying textbooks, technology tools in the classroom and tools to support the new state core curriculum.
“On behalf of the students and staff at B.D. Gullett Elementary, we extend our gratitude to our generous community’s support of the 2013 Neal Communities Golf Challenge,” said Kathy Hayes, B.D. Gullett Elementary School Principal. “Without the support of Pat Neal, we would be unable to provide the latest technology, resources and other instructional programming enhancements for our students. We are indebted to Mr. Neal, our business sponsors, golfers and school volunteers who’ve made this annual event our most successful fundraiser. Mr. Neal's continued support as the major underwriter of this fundraiser serves as an example of his commitment to the Lakewood Ranch community and our neighborhood school.”
