Negatively charged water essential to health reports “Fourth Phase of Water” author to fresh water advocate Sharon Kleyne

When studying the human body, according to Pollack, the importance of water is too often overlooked. The human body is about two-thirds water. This can range from as high as 80 percent in an infant to as low as 40 percent in an elderly or obese person. Because water molecules are extremely small, says Polack, they constitute 99 percent of the total number of molecules in the body.
Scientists have long known, Pollack explains, that the human body’s interior is slightly alkaline, with a pH balance above 7.0. In contrast, acidic substances have a pH balance below 7.0. Acidic substances have more protons in their atomic structure and are positively charged. Alkaline substances have fewer protons in their atomic structure and are negatively charged. Water is the primary carrier and determiner of pH balance.
The “Fourth Phase Water” discovered by Pollack constitutes the majority of the water inside the human body and inside body cells. Fourth Phase Water, according to Pollack, has the ability to create and determine pH balance.
The human body has numerous mechanisms for cleansing itself of positively charged ions, says Pollack. Human urine is acidic and positively charged, perspiration is acidic and positively charged, exhaled breath is acidic and positively charged, and other forms of human waste are also acidic and positively charged.
In other words, Pollack concludes, when it comes to water, the human body craves negativity and expels positivity. The majority of drinking water, Kleyne adds, is slightly to moderately alkaline. She agrees with Pollack that the human body has an ability to convert slightly acidic water to alkaline water.
Kleyne and Pollack also agree that the most essential lifestyle activity to maintain health is to keep the body well hydrated, constantly adding new fresh water as old water is used and expelled. Physical dehydration or loss of body water content, caused by low humidity or illness, can upset the body’s natural pH balance and lead to malfunctions and disease. The best remedy for dehydration is to drink the suggested amount of water each day. Alkaline water is preferred but not essential. Products such as Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® also help hydrate the body.
Kleyne suggests drinking eight glasses of fresh water per day in addition to all other fluid intake. Increase this to 10 to 12 glasses if coming down with a cold or the flu. Begin with two full glasses upon rising. Caffeine, alcohol and excessive sugar are dehydrating and should be avoided. Water should be consumed in full glasses rather than sipped. Children ten or under should drink half their body weight in ounces per day.
