NETA Rolls Out Two New Online SPTS Courses for 2014
Portage, Michigan (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 -- Today NETA, the InterNational Electrical Testing Association, announced the two technical track seminars that have been selected from the all-star lineup at PowerTest 2014 to be offered as the latest Self-Paced Technical Seminar (SPTS). Offering the most up-to-date information on preventative maintenance and how to practically apply the NFPA 70E, these courses bring NETA’s SPTS offerings to 12 courses that can be taken to rapidly earn Continuing Technical Development Credits.
These two new courses offer training in safety and maintenance from industry veteran Jim White, a NETA Outstanding Achievement Award recipient who is a frequent writer for industry publications and highly involved in electrical standards committees. White is the training director at Shermco Industries and author of Electrical Safety - A Practical Guide to OSHA and NFPA 70E, among others.
The first SPTS, Condition of Maintenance: A Practical Approach to Compliance within the Industry, is a four-hour seminar that covers best practices for developing a preventative maintenance program, why having a program in place is important, and how to incorporate newer technologies for maximum efficiencies. This SPTS helps assure technicians are aware of the NFPA requirements concerning overcurrent protective devices, helping to minimize risk when work is being performed.
The second SPTS, Practical Application of NFPA 70E in Routine Work Tasks, addresses chapters one and two of the 2012 NFPA 70E and applies the principles of leadership, project management and customer service. These principles are related to the requirements of regulatory compliance, safety related work practices and safety related maintenance practices. This SPTS course uses real life examples to illustrate how the NFPA 70E can be applied to everyday practical solutions.
