NetNumber Successfully Demonstrates NFV Interoperability
Lowell, MA (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- NetNumber announced today it has successfully completed the initial NFVI-VNF Interoperability Evaluation Phase 1 organized by the New IP Agency (NIA), Light Reading and EANTC. NetNumber submitted and tested its centralized signaling and routing control (CSRC) platform, TITAN. Results from the test are available on Light Reading (see http://www.lightreading.com/nfv/nfv-tests-and-trials/exclusive!-nfv-interop-evaluation-results/d/d-id/719675?).
“We were delighted to have NetNumber on board for the NFVI-FNV VNF Interoperability Evaluation Phase 1. These tests underscore our commitment to validating product features that meet the evolving requirements for global IP networks,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, managing director of EANTC. “NetNumber’s virtual test probe interoperated well with participating NFVIs, proving that service provider-grade IP test solutions are successfully virtualized alongside VNF and helping operators to move expertise in signaling provides a unique perspective on the challenges operators face as they virtualize core network functions. We are confident this testing effort with companies such as NetNumber will assist in moving virtualization from the test labs to real-world deployments by operators.”
NetNumber TITAN is a common, virtualized infrastructure for all signaling control, routing policy enforcement and subscriber database services in the network. It uniquely delivers centralized provisioning and management combined with powerful distributed, in-memory database replication technology, combined with more than 15 virtual network functions, delivering all signal processing and policy enforcement to optimal locations in an operator’s network. Today, TITAN is deployed on more than 350 servers across five continents. Its robust subscriber data management capability supports more than 200 billion transactions per month.
“Operators have embraced virtualization due to the inherent benefits of cost savings and ease of deployment and management of network resources,” said Kim Gibbons, chief marketing officer, NetNumber. “However, the lack of tangible and objective information about how network components from various vendors interwork has slowed the transition from proof of concept to real world deployment. Interoperability tests such as the one conducted by the NIA, Light Reading and EANTC are critical to progressing this transition. NetNumber is excited to have demonstrated how TITAN can operate within multi-vendor virtual environments, and to share our expertise in signaling to help accelerate the transition to NFV.”
