Netsmart Continues Commitment to Health and Human Services with Meaningful Use Stage 2 Certification of myEvolv™ CareRecord™
Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Netsmart today announced it has attained ambulatory Complete EHR, 2014 Edition (Meaningful Use Stage 2) certification for its myEvolv™ V 9.0 solution.
The announcement comes less than a month after Netsmart’s myAvatar™ CareRecord™ became the first EHR designed specifically for health and human services provider organizations to achieve Stage 2 Meaningful Use certification.
“This certification of our myEvolv™ CareRecord reinforces Netsmart’s commitment to the continued development of the myEvolv platform and strong partnership with our clients in the child and family services, I/DD, social services and behavioral health provider communities,” said Michael Valentine, chief executive officer, Netsmart.
Netsmart assumed development of the myEvolv solution (previously called Evolv-CS) in January 2013 with its acquisition of Defran Systems. At that time, Defran Systems president and CEO Fran Loshin-Turso, now a senior vice president and general manager at Netsmart, cited Netsmart’s ability to make the investment required to meet Meaningful Use Stages 2 and 3 requirements as a key factor in the acquisition decision.
Stage 1 Complete and Modular Meaningful Use certification expires for all vendors on December 31, 2013, so they must successfully pass 2014 certification requirements for their users to continue to qualify for Meaningful Use incentive funds. While some industry reports indicate providers are seeking EHR alternatives if their current vendor is unlikely to meet the 2014 certification requirements, Netsmart is ensuring its clients will be able to continue to qualify for incentive funds. In addition to myAvatar and myEvolv, Netsmart is on schedule to attain Complete EHR, 2014 Edition compliant certification for its TIER®, CMHC/MIS and Insight™ CareRecords.
Behavioral health, addiction treatment, I/DD, child and family, public health, and other health and human services providers are currently eligible for Medicaid or Medicare Meaningful Use funds based on the number of Eligible Professionals (EPs), such as physicians and nurse practitioners, in their organizations.
Certification testing for myEvolv was conducted by Drummond Group Inc., one of the ONC-Authorized Testing and Certification Bodies (ATCBs) for EHR certification named by the Office of the National Coordinator to provide Meaningful Use certification for EHR systems and applications.
