Acer America today announced the availability of its Acer H6517ST projector in the United States, offering consumers Full HD, short-throw versatility and lifelike 3D entertainment capabilities for a thrilling home theater experience.
Boasting a high 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness, the Acer H6517ST projects crystal-clear, vibrant visuals, even from a long distance and in a room with ambient light. It can display large images up to 181 inches diagonally from 6.5 feet from the screen. A native 1080p (1920 x1080) wide format resolution displays brilliant Full HD visuals for a true cinematic experience and enables users to browse web content without extra horizontal and vertical scrolling. DLP® and HDMI® 3D ready, the projector delivers Blu-ray 1080p 3D content with a compatible Blu-ray player and 3D display. Users can watch 3D movies and play 3D games on a console or PC with DLP 3D glasses.(1) Short-throw technology provides flexibility in placement options, even in small living spaces.

Its 16:9 native aspect ratio fits the latest widescreen TVs. Dynamic Black technology creates excellent image contrast via a dynamic lamp power adjustment that analyzes content frame by frame. It dynamically adjusts dark scenes to optimal black levels, while maintaining brightness, resulting in vibrant image quality and a high 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
Acer ColorBoost 3D technology improves optical color performance for true to life images, even while displaying 3D content. Featuring ColorSafe II, the Acer H6517ST eliminates color decay and takes advantage of DLP technology to guarantee picture integrity despite prolonged use.
The Acer H6517ST measures just 12.4 – x 8.8 – x 3.7-inches and weighs 5.5 lbs. Acer’s top-loading lamp design enables quick lamp replacement in just a few simple steps, even when the projector is ceiling mounted. The auto ceiling-mount detects and instantly rotates the images by 180 degrees to ensure the accurate orientation.
This projector also comes with multiple connectivity options including two HDMI® ports with one that offers MHL for charging smartphones and tablets as well as composite, D-Sub and PC audio.
An auto keystone correction automatically revises vertical distortions and the Acer Dust Resistant system protects the projector from airborne dust, helping to extend the lifespan.
Acer SmartFormat supports all wide-format PC signals, eliminating unsupported signal issues and having to change the resolution of the PC. Instant resume enables the projector to power up right after it has been turned off, so there is no need to wait for a cooling period, while instant packing capability allows it to be packed immediately after use.
Wireless Projection
The new projector can display content wirelessly by installing Acer eDisplay and leveraging an Acer wireless adapter.(1) It is compatible with Windows, iOS and Android and can mirror play from Android 4.2 devices.
The Acer H6517ST provides up to 4,000 hours of lamp life in standard mode, 6,000 hours in ECO mode and as many as 8,000 hours in ExtremeECO mode.(2)
