New Book: Announcing Shivitti: A Review of Ka-Tzetnik 135633’s Vision, Written by Political Theorist Bryan W. Brickner
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 25, 2015 -- Ew Publishing announces the publication of Shivitti: A Review of Ka-Tzetnik 135633’s Vision, written by political theorist Bryan W. Brickner.
In New Book: Announcing Shivitti: A Review of Ka-Tzetnik 135633’s Vision on the Bryan William Brickner Blog, the journey of an Auschwitz survivor is examined through five LSD-serotonin therapy sessions. In 1976, with his sleep marred by three decades of Auschwitz nightmares, Yehiel De-Nur left Israel and went to the Netherlands (Leiden University) in search of relief; he had heard stories of other concentration camp survivors using a new therapy at Leiden, a treatment involving LSD.
“Our reviewed author, Yehiel De-Nur,” Brickner explained, “wrote more than 20 books, many using the identity ‘KZ’ for Ka-Tzetnik 135633, the concentration camp number branded on his arm.”
“Of course, this is very political,” Brickner commented, “as LSD, since 1970 in the US, has been a Schedule I drug: this means that it has no medical value and is likely to be abused. De-Nur’s book shows medical value (an N of 1) and he has only five sessions and stops.”
“He then returns to Israel,” continued Brickner, “waits ten years, then uses the tape recordings from the 1976 sessions to write his book, published in Hebrew in 1987 and English in 1989 and again in 1998.”
“Think of liberation today and we’ll continue this journey next month,” closed Brickner, “with the addition of Hannah Arendt, specifically, her footnotes … from her book, The Human Condition.”
Brickner has a 1997 political science doctorate from Purdue University and is the author of several political theory books, to include: The Promise Keepers: Politics and Promises (1999), Article the first of the Bill of Rights (2006), and The Book of the Is (2013). He also writes political fiction, such as the novella thereafter (2013), and is the publisher of The Cannabis Papers: A citizen’s guide to cannabinoids (2011) and The Bryan William Brickner Blog, a resource for the political science of constitutions and the biological science of receptors.
