New Book Available on Illinois' Concealed Carry Law
Palatine, IL (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Attorney Cameron Monti, a Partner at Lavelle Law, Ltd in Palatine has released a primer for those impacted by Illinois’ new concealed carry legislation. “Illinois' Firearm Concealed Carry Law FAQ Handbook” outlines the new law step by step, providing guidance for attorneys, gun owners, distributors, business owners, and others who may interact with various segments of the law in some way.
Available on Amazon.com, “Illinois' Firearm Concealed Carry Law FAQ Handbook” follows a recent FAQ Handbook that Monti also authored on the new Illinois Medical Marijuana law.
“These are two very significant new pieces of legislation in our state that came together in a rather short time frame,” said Monti. “The concealed carry law is a bit different in that Illinois is the last state to put this into law so there was more of a history from which Springfield could draw information.”
Nonetheless, Monti suggests that there are complexities to the new law that will take time to resolve. He mentions workplace rules, public establishments that can be gun-free zones, and how police will handle concealed weapons during traffic stops and other interactions.
“At Lavelle Law we are establishing dialogue with our clients to help them to transition to new operating conditions with these laws in place,” said Monti. “The new book on concealed carry should help point them in the direction of understanding what questions to ask and which sections of their operation could be affected by the law.”
Monti received his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Washington School of Law. He has focused much of his practice on matters of tax law, business law, and employment law since joining Lavelle Law in 2002. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at John Marshall Law School.
