Estelle’s daughter, Clare, falls in love and marries Grady Mayfield, welcoming into her life a new patriarch and a positive direction for both families. “Bridges” is a historical novel of tragedy, love, and resilience, inviting its readers to explore contrasting lives of both likable and unlikable characters.
