New Book by Carol Ann Arnim Speaks to Healing Power of Animals
Kensington, Prince Edward Island (PRWEB) March 13, 2014 -- In her new memoir “Crossing My Rainbow Bridge” (published by Balboa Press), author Carol Ann Arnim presents a collection of short stories that tell her inspiring story of love and grief and the guide dogs who changed her outlook on life.
“The inspiration to write my book came from years of family, friends and strangers telling me you ought to write a book,” reveals Arnim. “Short story format was the building tool for my memoir which resulted in a collection of stories making a book.”
“Crossing My Rainbow Bridge” begins on an oil rig in Alberta where Arnim met the love of her life, Robert. When she finds herself pregnant, the two think it’s best to give their son up for adoption. Several years later, Arnim and Robert are finally able to get married and reunite with their son in Arizona.
Tragedy strikes just before their fourth wedding anniversary when Robert dies of lung cancer. Struggling to cope with the staggering grief, Arnim begins to care for five guide dog puppies, but realizes Robert is still with her. Together with Robert’s angelic whisperings from the other side, the dogs begin to heal Arnim’s broken heart and give her the strength to carry on.
“Crossing My Rainbow Bridge” is Arnim’s triumphant story of overcoming loss and facing down seemingly insurmountable challenges. Readers and animal lovers will find inspiration in Arnim’s stories and words of encouragement.

About the Author
Carol Ann Arnim attended college and lived in Nepal for a semester and spent time at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Work within the oil business keeps her going while living in Denver and allows another move to Arizona. She eventually married her true love, yet this is short lived as he died from lung cancer. Serendipity blesses her with the raising of five service dogs which heal her broken heart. She currently lives in the countryside of beautiful Prince Edward Island with her lab, Mystic Love.
