New book by Isabella Moreno explains divorce to children of gay parents
BOSTON (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- When author Isabella Moreno separated from her wife, she sought to assure her daughter that both her mothers would always love her. There were plenty of books depicting children of divorced heterosexual parents, but there were none depicting children of divorced gay parents.
In an effort to fill that gap, Moreno publishes her new book, “Momma Days, Mommy Days: A Story of Love, Change and Hope” (published by AuthorHouse), to help children of divorced gay parents understand what is happening and know that they will always be loved.
Told from a child’s perspective, “Momma Days, Mommy Days” follows an unnamed little girl whose mothers are divorcing. At first, there are small, subtle changes at home, but when one of her mothers moves out, the little girl must learn to adapt to a new living situation amidst her feelings of confusion, sadness and worry.
Gay marriage is now legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia, and Moreno believes that the need for her book will only grow. She hopes her book will help these couples better explain divorce to their children while giving them a book that directly relates to their family and their situation.
