New Book by Michael P. Wood Shares Memories of Work with Sea Lions
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (PRWEB) January 29, 2015 -- In 1972, author and U.S. Navy SEAL Michael P. Wood arrived in Coronado, California, to begin his work with Project Quick Find. The newly-created program involved capturing and training sea lions to recover anti-submarine rockets from the ocean floor.
Wood’s new memoir, “Project Quick Find: Memoirs of a U.S. Navy SEAL Training Sea Lions” (published by Lulu), documents his time with Project Quick Find from 1972-1977, recalling fond and often hilarious memories of the sea lions and their trainers.
Project Quick Find was originally an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) project, but the Navy SEALS were soon put in charge of it. Wood witnessed the earlier beginnings of the program and was a major part of its success.
Praise for “Project Quick Find”:
“Wood’s story, which recounts his experience as a Project Quick Find plank owner (original crew member), is rich with anecdotes recounting the hard work and occasional hijinks (some side-splittingly hilarious) that went into creating and developing the program.”
—Dwight Jon Zimmerman, award-winning military historian
