"The Inducements of Brazen Lovers Behind the Mask" follows the life of a girl, a native of Guinea, Conakry, West Africa, who immigrates to the U.S. Full of hope and in soaring spirits, she wonders about all the beautiful things that could happen to her in this huge, foreign land. But little did she know that dreams could melt into nightmares. Culture shock shook her innocent mind, threatening to devour the hopes of a happy life. As she started school, she began to struggle with adapting the new ways of the majority, finding her hue in the monochrome of white skins and spiteful stares. She began to lose confidence and started to search for approval and acceptance. Everything came down collapsing when her little heart fell in love, only to realize that to him, she was as good as invisible.

Drawing intense emotions from her own pains, Seck's biographic fiction aims to touch hearts and raise social awareness through her story. Her book captures themes of racial prejudice and the painful pursuit for identity in a society that imposes conformity to the dominant culture. With conviction, she concludes with a plea for young adults like her, to assert and appreciate their uniqueness. She calls for social respect to multiculturalism and diversity. Ultimately, she encourages parents to reach out to their children. "Teens," she says, "need love more than anything."

About the Author

P. Seck was born on August 17, 1996, in Guinea, West Africa. She immigrated to the U.S. at age nine where she struggled to learn English as her fifth language. She started volunteer work at the Boston Globe at 15 and went to high school in Boston Community Leadership Academy for three years. To be an actress is her ultimate pursuit in life and taking the first bold step, she currently earns experience as an apprentice in a theatre company. Her second book, "Lost My Way to Misfortunes of Life Dear Diary" is underway.
