Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- Carlsbad resident Dawn Lesicko is looking forward to starting a new chapter of her life as a small business owner serving seniors and their families through her new business, Caring Transitions of Carlsbad.

“Every move is challenging, but after my divorce, when I downsized and decluttered, it was really hard. I saw the need for services like these and I’m looking forward to being the one to provide them to my community,” Lesicko said.
Lesicko brings a wealth of knowledge to this new business including a degree in organizational management and experience as a business owner, realtor and co-owner of a homeowner’s association management firm. She also raised two children – a daughter and a son – who both served in the Air Force. While her kids were in school, Lesicko was an active at-home mom and volunteered as an art docent, art program chairperson, band booster president, PTA board member and sports team statistician.
She also knows a few things about the challenges of moving – Lesicko went to 14 grade schools, moved 10 times before settling down to raise her family in 1982, and has moved four times since. She decided to open Caring Transitions after her most recent move, which brought her back to Carlsbad, where she lived for 29 years.
“It was important for me to find a business that would be fulfilling professionally and personally while allowing me to use my nurturing instincts to assist those facing life’s challenges. After a lot of soul searching and research, I decided to open my own business. I found Caring Transitions and found it was the perfect match for me, especially considering my own professional background and moving experience,” Lesicko said.

I want to bring a sense of peace and calm to what can be a hectic and emotional situation,” Lesicko said.
“Sometimes when you’re downsizing – especially if you’re moving a senior into assisted living – it can feel like the end of an era. I want to help people see their relocation as a joyous start to a new chapter in their lives. It doesn’t have to be a negative experience,” she added.
