New Case Management Order Issued for New Jersey Stryker Hip Litigation, Notes Hissey Kientz, LLP

Stryker Corporation issued a voluntary recall of the Stryker Rejuvenate and Stryker ABG II hip replacement systems in July 2012 after the hip implants were allegedly linked to serious complications including fretting, corrosion, metallosis, hip dislocation and fractures.**
Stryker Rejuvenate and Stryker ABG II hip replacements include metal neck and stem components that can allegedly grind together over time, causing metal debris to flake off of the implant. According to a February 28, 2012 article from the British Medical Journal, metal debris can release toxic levels of chromium and cobalt ions into the bloodstream, leading to metal poisoning.
