New Children’s Book Reveals God’s Hand in Everyday Miracles
GRANTSBURG, Wis. (PRWEB) July 08, 2013 -- Saying prayers every night with his grandma is an important occasion for Little Bear, who gets his nickname from how quickly he can climb trees. Little Bear, whose real name is Justin, stars in this new children’s book. He stays with his grandparents while his mother attends nursing school. When they pray, his grandma thanks God for the miracles He provides every day. Justin, always curious, decides to find out what a miracle is, so he spends the day with his grandmother, hoping to see one for himself.
In “Grandma’s Miracles,” Justin turns down a day of fishing with grandpa hoping to see one of grandma’s miracles. To his utter disappointment, the entire day is just a regular day, from gathering eggs, to climbing trees, to running into a bear on in the woods, all very fun but no miracles. It’s not until his grandma points out all of God’s gifts – the very things Justin finds joy in every day – that he realizes he has seen miracles.
This charming book by Renee Peek, appropriate for reading aloud, reveals the miraculous nature of everyday life, seen from the perspective of a warm-hearted grandmother filled with faith. Heartfelt colored pencil illustrations by Maura McEvoy help bring the story to life.
Author Renee Peek taught at a vocational school for at-risk youth.
