New Clinic Accepts Medicaid for Spasticity Treatments
West Palm Beach, Fla (PRWEB) December 21, 2015 -- Palm Beach NeuroRehabilitation, a new spasticity clinic conveniently located less than three miles from I-95 on the campus of St. Mary’s Hospital, is now open, treating both local patients and seasonal residents. Palm Beach NeuroRehabilitation is the first and only spasticity clinic in Palm Beach County to accept Medicaid for Intrathecal Baclofen Pump refills.
Local patients no longer have to travel outside of Palm Beach County for routine spasticity treatments. Seasonal resident patients can easily schedule pump refill appointments in advance with their physician’s prescription.
Palm Beach NeuroRehabilitation clinic is under the leadership of Dr. Claude Oster, D.O. and provides treatment for adults and children living with spasticity. Dr. Claude Oster specializes in Neurological Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation, Brain Trauma Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Rehabilitation.
“I’m excited to share my expertise in Palm Beach County and to offer my services to the many adults and children who live with this condition everyday. Local patients can save themselves the trip to Miami or Port St. Lucie, and we can accommodate patients visiting from out of town in the absence of their home physician. We also accept Medicaid,” said Dr. Oster.
Palm Beach NeuroRehabilitation offers several treatment options for spasticity including physician assessment, physical and occupational therapies, use and maintenance of Intrathecal Baclofen (ITB) Pumps, as well as Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) treatment. These treatments can improve muscle tone and reduce pain in the extremities, making it easier for patients to perform activities of daily living (ADL).
Spasticity, the condition of overactive or tight muscles, is a common phenomenon in patients with neurological disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury.
