New Cornbread App Unites Geocaching And Social Media
PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- Cornbread, the latest project by Neologic Labs, inverts the standard social platform relationship with time and location. Launching in the Apple App store on September 23rd, Cornbread saves memories for others to find in a specific location, days, months, even years in the future.
Cornbread leverages geo-targeting technology to tie experience to place and time. Users create and drop messages or “crumbs,” in the app, using video, photos, audio and text. Any user of Cornbread has the ability to discover crumbs –they are not limited to people being “followed”, fostering greater discovery of shared messages.
Cornbread Features:
• People will only see your crumb when they are in the physical location where you dropped it
• Receive push-notifications when you walk near a crumb
• Open another user-profile to see all of their crumbs on the map for you to find
• Create a crumb using any combination of photo, audio, video, or long form text
• Comment on crumbs, follow and tag friends, receive alerts when tagged
• Access Cornbread anywhere worldwide with cell reception or Wi-Fi
Creative ways to use Cornbread:
• Musicians can leave crumbs along their tour route for their fans
• Travelers can create a crumb tour for a friend who is going to visit the same place
• Brands can use crumbs to offer promotions or signage in certain locations for their fans
• Tour guides and teachers can create educational crumbs for people to find and discover
• Event planners can lead people to events on a map by placing crumbs as ‘post-it notes’
• Friends and family can leave one another love letters or inspirational notes in locations where they hope they’ll be found
Cornbread is the first in-house product to be released by Neologic, an independent design and development agency in Portland. Founder, Jaime Gennaro says, “It’s not like any other social media platform out there. Cornbread forces you to slow down, to think about where you are and what you want to leave there. It’s not about collecting likes, it’s about one person finding your unique memento – whether it’s an image, poem or video. Once someone goes to that location and experiences your “crumb” in the place that you left it, it connects you in a whole new way. It’s magic.”
Cornbread debuts in the Apple App store on September 23rd. The app is free to download. For more information visit http://www.cornbreadapp.com.
