New Dorp Merchants Group Presents: A Stroll Down Memory Lane
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2015 -- The Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC), The Richmond County Savings Foundation (RCSF), Councilman Steven Matteo and the New Dorp Merchants Group (NDMG) have announced the final event to culminate the three month long Spring Series of Events taking place on New Dorp Lane & New Dorp Plaza. A Stroll Down Memory Lane will take place on Thursday, June 25th from 5pm-9pm and will feature live musical performances of the Golden Oldies, arts on the lane, which will include 20 local artists capturing scenes from the Lane, and an interactive scavenger hunt. The event is free to the community.
“We’re looking forward to this event because it appeals to multiple audiences and will bring them to New Dorp Lane,” said Anthony Rapacciuolo of PRcision, the event’s coordinator. “It’s also exciting that we will be launching a new promotion called New Dorp Merchants Bucks which will be given to 20 artists that participate as well as the first 50 people who register for the scavenger hunt.”
New Dorp Merchants Bucks are custom Visa prepaid gift cards which can be redeemed at any business located on New Dorp Lane or Plaza. The first 20 artists who register to participate in the Art on the Lane program will receive a card in the amount of $25, and the first 50 people who register to participate in the scavenger hunt will receive a card valued at $10. ‘A Stroll Down Memory Lane’ combine’s a variety of elements from previous successful events and will be used to showcase the past and future of New Dorp. “The history of New Dorp will be on full display as we recreate the district’s bustling past, while also giving a glimpse into the positive direction the neighborhood is heading.” said Daniel Clark, the SIEDC’s Project Manager for New Dorp.
“There’s something for everyone to enjoy at this event,” said Maria Esposito or Norman Heil Insurance and President of the New Dorp Lane Merchant’s Group. “Come and listen to the live music, watch artists paint, or have some fun in the scavenger hunt; the choice is yours.”

The free event will run from 5-9PM up and down New Dorp Lane and Plaza with musicians located at various locations.
